The D&D Journey

Peter and Penny Wolff, pioneers of the specialty coffee & tea scene in Brisbane, Queensland, opened their D&D doors for the first time on 10th of the 10th (October) 2010 with an aim to understand the coffee & tea consumer and to empower every customer by offering high quality single origin and blended coffee & tea.

Then in 2019, they took the next step, D&D on Departures was born. The takeaway version of the classics at the Brisbane International Airport was a long time wish for Penny and Peter. Here customer's could experience the D&D magic, before leaving on their overseas adventures. Unfortunately Covid-19 has curbed D&D on Departures’ journey temporarily.

Continuing the journey, in 2021 Dandelion & Driftwood on Doncaster opened, bringing their bigger, bolder doors back to Hendra. Now a licensed venue serving breakfast, brunch, lunch, high-teas 7 days a week and dinners Friday and Saturday nights. The cafe includes a take away window open daily till 11am, coffee cakers lounge corner, 40 seat dining room, 14 seat private dining room "Cecil Ernest Room" and additional outside dining in the pretty Tea Garden.

The owner’s aim continues to be sharing loads of old school favourites with a modern twist, while widening customer’s palate experiences and encouraging customers to explore options at a level that will vibrate with them. Enjoying the simple pleasures of life in beautiful D&D surrounds and conversation.

Dandelion & Driftwood are well-known for their cafe craft, carefully curated wine/beer/cocktail list, delicious food from day through till night, traditional tiered stand high teas and providing an innovative mix of new and old methods of enjoying the timeless classics; tea & coffee.
